Water Spinach Ong Choy Seeds | Non-GMO Non-Hybrid 40g (860+ Count)

Native to tropical and subtropical Southeast Asia, water spinach, also known as “phak bung” or “kangkong”, is grown and eaten as a vegetable in a simple stirfry, added to noodle soups and spicy curries, or alongside a green papaya salad raw.  When preparing for cooking, the tender top and leaves of the shoots, which are preferred, can easily snap off from the tougher lower more mature part of the shoot, which although edible can be tougher to consume.

Germinate: Soak seeds in water 12 hours. Place between soaked paper towels away from sunlight but keep warm between 70 - 90˚F (21 - 32˚C). Seeds should begin to split or sprout in 2 - 5 days; up to 2 weeks in cooler climates.

Sow: Scatter 1 layer of seeds evenly on moist nutrient-rich soil. Place 1 - 2 seeds 0.5” (13mm) deep in loose soil if using trays that are at least 2 - 3” (5 - 8mm) deep. Water every morning and evening. Transplant to sunny location when seedlings are 4 - 6” (10 - 15 cm) tall. Partial shade okay.

Grow: 6” (15 cm) apart in soil or transplant to minimum 20 in (50 cm) pot. Water regularly.
