This Thai heat-loving variety starts out with light yellow-white petal flowers that develop into green spineless pods that are crisp with a mild sweet flavor. While pods are excellent for stirfrying, pickling, and thickening soups, pods are also consumed fresh as a garnish paired with spicy curries and sauces in Thai cuisine. This variety is also less mucilaginous.

Growing:  Scarify and/or soak seeds overnight before planting. Start indoors 3-4 weeks before last frost. Take care not to disturb roots when transplanting. Sow 3-4 seeds  1/2 - 1” (1.25 - 2.5 cm) every 12” (30 cm) in rows 36 - 48” (90 - 120 cm) apart. Thin to strongest seedlings when 1 - 2” high. Place in location with at least 6 hours of full sun. Water every 7 - 10 days with 1” of water. Days to maturity: 50 - 60 days. Harvest when young tender pods reach 3 - 5” before stems mature and become woody. Snap off cleanly or cut top of pod with a knife.
