Amata coffee is produced not only with you – the consumer – in mind, but also from the farmer’s standpoint. The labor-intensive harvesting and processing of coffee beans on smallholder lots is actually where all the magic happens. Because at Amata we believe good coffee begins with good growing, and good growing means not going against nature; to live in harmony with what has long given us the foundation to not only survive, but to also thrive. That is why Robusta coffee is the most suitable species to grow at lower elevations (up to 800m above sea level) and in the monsoon tropical climate of Southern Thailand.

Growing it in its most natural environment and on bio-diverse permaculture farms, Robusta doesn’t require pesticides, making it sustainable and safe for consumption. And with the help of local SCA-certified graders and roasters, who are often smallholder coffee producers themselves, the Amata coffee farming community is able to bring out the best of what our coffee has to offer in specialty-grade Robusta.

It was also natural for us to bring you delicious Robusta in a convenient, portable filter bag, which has long been popular throughout Asia where homes often don’t have sufficient space for all the high-tech gadgets often used to make home-brewed coffee by the potful, or where rural areas experience regular brown-outs. All you need is hot water to make your cup of Joe, making it perfect for when you’re on the go to the office, traveling, or camping.
